Biography

Isabel Cordeiro was born in Lisbon in 1966.

She graduated in History, (Art History), from the University of Lisbon Faculty of Letters 1988.

Course in Art Management from the National Administration Institute.

She attended the master’s in 20th Century History at the Nova University of Lisbon Faculty of Social Science and Humanities.

Member of the Board of Directors of the Belém Cultural Centre Foundation from 2016 to 2022.

She was assistant to the Board of the National Museum of Ancient Art from 2014 to 2016.

She was Director General for Cultural Heritage (DGPC) from 2012 to 2014.

She was Director of the Queluz National Palace from 2008 to 2012.

Head of the Department to Disclose and Assist Visitors to Sintra Parks -Monte da Lua, S.A., from 2005 and 2008.

She was deputy director general of the Portuguese Museum Institute from 2002 to 2005.

She was Head of the Inventory Department of the Portuguese Museum Institute from 1998 to 2002.

She was Chief of Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Culture in the 13th Government under the 1976 democratic constitution.

Project manager under the Mosaic Initiative in1996.

Senior staff at the Portuguese Museum Institute from 1992 to 1996.

She was part of the Exhibition Department of Europália Portugal 91, in her role as deputy of the Commissioner.

Lecturer in Contemporary Culture at the Institute for New Occupations from 1988 to 1991.
