Registration open for the online information sessions on PNAID: Diaspora Investor Status and National Production Support Program

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion will promote, on the 2nd of February, two information sessions within the scope of the National Programme to Support Investment from the Portuguese Diaspora (PNAID), which will be held by videoconference. These sessions' opening remarks will be addressed by the Secretaries of State for Portuguese Communities Abroad and for the Development of Inland Regions.

The session "PNAID and the Diaspora Investor Status", which takes place between 10:00 and 11:30, seeks to provide information on the programme, and to clarify the conditions and procedures for requesting the status, available at PNAID's website.

This session is aimed at the entities which support entrepreneurship and investment in Portugal, business and local development associations, consulting companies, and other entities with responsibilities concerning the companies' information and support.

Registration and this session's full programme are available at this website.

The session "National Production Support Program", which takes place between 15:00 and 17:00, aims to present this new incentive system towards business investment, particularly in the country's interior regions, and to clarify the conditions and procedures for the applications' presentation of diaspora investors, whose projects are endowed with supplements. The session is aimed at the Portuguese Chambers of Commerce and Industry abroad. Further information on the National Production Support Programme can be accessed in the Portuguese Governmental Portal.

Registration and this session's full programme are available at this website.

PNAID is a national programme intended to promote appreciation of Portuguese communities abroad, and the diaspora investment, particularly in the country's interior regions, as well as exports and national companies' internationalisation through the diaspora. This programme is coordinated by the Secretaries of State for Portuguese Communities Abroad and for the Development of Inland Regions.

This programme also gathers a set of support initiatives and programmes, seeking to facilitate the diaspora investors' access to national and European funds, through specific budgetary supplements and appropriations for Diaspora Investor Status' holders. Comparably to what occurred with the +CO3SO Employment measure and the incentives towards the productive innovation in the companies located in the interior part of Portugal; the National Production Support Programme has already included specific supplements for these investors.
