Situation in Guinea-Bissau

Given the events that interrupted proper constitutional normality in Guinea-Bissau, the Portuguese Government asks that all those involved refrain from any act of institutional or civic violence and that the regular function of the institutions resumes so that the process to determine and disclose the results of the elections may be concluded.

The Government is in permanent contact with the Portuguese embassy in Bissau to ensure the Portuguese citizens’ situation, as well as that of the overall population.
