Minister of State and Finance touches on Euro Area economic perspectives and analyses global setting

The Minister of State and Finance Joaquim Miranda Sarmento is Brussels to attend the Europgroup and Ecofin meetings in Brussels, together with the Secretary of State for Tax Affairs Cláudia Reis Duarte. 

In addition to attending these crucial meetings for the Euro Area, the Minister gave an interview on Bloomberg where he analysed the current economic setting in Europe and the world. During the interview, he stressed the challenges faced by the economies in the region and the importance of coordinating policy to strengthen financial stability and foster sustainable growth.

Central issues to the Euro Area are being discussed at the Eurogroup and Ecofin meetings, including economic Outlook, policy coordination, and the conclusions of the IMF Article 4 Mission. 

These discussions aim to consolidate the single currency’s countries’ economic stability, in line with the priorities noted by the Minister in his interview on Bloomberg.
