The King Jaume I Awards have the specificity of gathering a series of renowned personalities, the jury and applicants’ panel. The Awards ceremony where the winners of this year’s edition of the King Jaume I Awards are announced is held on Tuesday 6 June at the Government Palace in Valencia (Palau de la Generalitat) at 1:30 pm.

The King Jaume I Awards were created in 1989 to promote scientific development in Spain  and are awarded on remarkable work undertaken in 6 areas: Basic Research, Economy, Medical Research, Environmental Protection, New Technologies, and Entrepreneurship.

This is an important accolade and it shows the importance given by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education to research. During its term in office, the Ministry intends to boost its international relations, especially in collaboration with Spain, and encourage scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting is organised by the Valencian Foundation for Advanced Studies, the King Jaume I Awards Foundation, and the José Pastor Fuertes Foundation.
