«We are just a few days away of the 1st anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. A year ago, we were recovering from the pandemic and planning for a new cycle of economic growth and reforms. None of us could imagine the consequences that Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine would come to inflict on our economies: the energy crisis, the rise in food prices and fears of food security, to the bout of inflation and the urgent need to support households and firms.
From the experience of the last year, we can already take one important lesson: the European Union, both politically and economically, has once more proved its resilience, even under such a severe shock.«
