The Portuguese Secretary of State for International Trade and Foreign Investment, Bernardo Ivo Cruz, will be travelling to East Timor, Indonesia, and Singapore for a series of initiatives that include, among others, political level meetings and meetings with companies.
The visit began this Sunday [27 November] in Timor, with a meeting with the Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources and the representative of the United Nations Development Programme.
In Dili, the Secretary of State for International Trade and Foreign Investment will also attend the ceremony to open the Living Memory Gallery, upon invitation by the President of East Timor, José Ramos Horta. He also has meetings scheduled at the Timor Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Association of Women in East Timor.
In Indonesia, on Thursday [1 December], the Secretary of State for International Trade and Foreign Investment will meet with the Indonesian Ministers of Investment and Trade, as well as the head of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. A meeting with the representatives of the Portuguese companies Vision Box and ChargR is also envisaged.
On Friday [3 December], in Singapore, the Secretary of State Bernardo Ivo Cruz has a meeting scheduled with companies and start-ups from different sectors, organised by Enterprise Singapore, whose mission is to support the international expansion of Singaporean SMEs
The Secretary of State will also meet with the CEO of the Singapore Food Agency with the aim of speeding up accreditation processes to import Portuguese pork and derivatives as well as beef and poultry.
The agenda in Singapore also includes a meeting with the CEO of Vertex Holdings, a firm tech for possible future work, namely in the field of farming technology and renewables in Portugal.
The Secretary of State for International Trade and foreign Investment will also meet with the CEO of EDP-R APAC, the largest Portuguese investment in Singapore and this is one of the main investments by Portuguese companies in Asia.
On that day, the Secretary of State Estado Bernardo Ivo Cruz will meet with the Singapore Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry and will meet with the Portuguese community residing in that Asian city.
