Biography

Ana Abrunhosa was born in Angola in 1970.

Ana Abrunhosa holds a PhD in Economy from the College of Economics of the University of Coimbra, and she is a Professor at the same College since 1995, having taught several subjects - such as Introduction to Economics, Microeconomics I, Regional Economics, European Economics, Introduction to Management, Innovation Management Seminar, among others - and collaborated regularly with other colleges.

She was President of the Centro Portugal Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRC) from May 2014 to October 2019; President of the Management Board of the Centro Regional Operational Program from May 2014 to October 2019; President of the Investment Committee of the Urban Instrument for Rehabilitation and Revitalization (IFRRU 2020) from June 2016 to October 2019; President of the General Council of the Debt & Guarantees Fund of the Financial Development Institution (IFD) from July 2017 to December 2018; President of the General Board of IFD's Capital & Quasi-Capital Fund since January 2019; President of the EUROACE Working Community (Centro, Alentejo and Extremadura) and Euroregion from June 2018 to October 2019; Executive Member of the Management Board of the Centro Regional Operational Program - Mais Centro - from February 2010 to May 2014; and Vice-President of the Centro Portugal Regional Coordination and Development Commission, responsible for Regional Development, Legal Support and Local Government and Communication, Administrative and Financial Management, from October 2008 to February 2010.

Ana Abrunhosa began her professional career at Ernst & Young in the audit area, where she worked from July 1994 to October 1995.

She was a researcher at the Center for Social Studies, College of Economics, University of Coimbra, and published several articles in national and international magazines and books, mainly on regional development, economics and innovation management.
