Biography

Teresa Coelho was born in 1970 in Nazareth, is married and has two children. 

She graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra (1988-93), has a post-graduation in International Relations from the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the Technical University of Lisbon and in Public Procurement from the Institute of Legal and Political Sciences of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. 

In 2005 she completed her Master's Degree in Human Resources Management at the School of Management of Paris.

Lawyer since 1995, she worked as assistant and head of office of the Secretary of State for Fisheries (1996 to 2002), assistant to the Secretary of State for Internal Administration and Civil Protection (2005 to 2008) and assistant and head of office of the Secretary of State for Rural Development and Forests (2009).

She was assigned as Deputy Director General of Fisheries and Aquaculture and also as Representative of Portugal on the Administrative Board of the European Fisheries Control Agency (both, 2010 to 2012). 

Afterwards, Teresa Coelho took office as Director of the Internal Audit Office of Docapesca - Portos e Lotas, SA (2012 to 2015).

In the past years, she was appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Docapesca - Portos e Lotas, SA (2016-2020).
