Lisbon, 30 November 2011
Dear Prime Minister
I would like to congratulate you, on behalf of the Portuguese
Government and in my own name, for taking the oath as Prime
Minister of Libya, leading the new Transitional Government.
Wishing you and your Ministers every success, you can count on
Portugal's continuous support for the new page that is courageously
being written by your fellow citizens.
The coming months will be undoubtedly very challenging, but I am
confident that the transition process will lead to a peaceful,
democratic and prosperous Libya, reconciled internally and with its
neighbours.
Bearing in mind the vast potential to enhance the relationship
and cooperation between Portugal and Libya, H. E. President AnĂbal
Cavaco Silva has invited H. E. Chairman Mustafa Abdul-Jalil to
visit Portugal. I also look forward to receiving you in Lisbon
soon, at a date to be set through the diplomatic channels.
Please accept, dear Prime Minister, the assurances of my highest
consideration.
Pedro Passos Coelho
